Amblyopia
- Also called as Lazy Eye,Amblyopia means that the vision in one of the two eyes isn’t adequately developed.
- It also means that the vision in one of the eyes is weaker than the other in terms of quality and quantity of vision.
- There are many reasons why a lazy eye develops.
- The lazy eye is otherwise normally developed physically.
- A lazy eye is usually diagnosed by a eye doctor at a regular eye exam at the doctors office.
- A lazy eye can be managed and the vision developed if adequate treatment is given at the right time.
- A lazy eye can regain full vision if managed well
- A first eye Check with an eye doctor needs to be scheduled by age 3-4 years if no obvious anomaly is noticed or earlier if the parent thinks the eye doesn’t look normal.
We also run a SMART STUDENT EYE -health PROGRAM (SSEP)
During a child’s first 12 years, 80% of all learning is visual . And yet most children have not had a comprehensive eye exam prior to starting school. Majority of students identified as problem learners have undetected vision problems.A comprehensive school Eye health program has 3 major components that include an eye examination,Teacher orientation and health education.
We at Roshni wish to reach out to as many children as we can through this program.
